Coordination in Area-Based Site Management Guidance Note

Area-Based Site Management (ABSM) provides a comprehensive framework for the implementation

of Site Management through an area-based approach. ABSM is used to address challenges of

operating in informal sites in both rural and urban areas as well as in dispersed, out of camp

displacement contexts. This guidance note focuses on how the coordination component of Area-Based Site Management operates in practice, what are the coordination roles and responsibilities of Site management actors operating through and area-based approach and how these fit into the broader humanitarian architecture.
